Cadet Program

The Grand Blanc Township Police Department began its Cadet Program in August 2022. The Cadet Program is designed to expose interested high school and college students to police work. The Cadet Program provides an avenue for students to prepare for a career with the Department by serving as entry-level trainees. The program will also provide the Department with a means of recruiting, training, and assessing potential candidates for sworn positions. Cadets are not law enforcement officers and are not charged with any sworn law enforcement authority. We have sponsored many of our cadets to attend local police academies who are now police officers within the department.

Cadet duties include:

• Administrative duties
• Performing duties of dispatch when needed
• Criminal and employment fingerprinting 
• Conducting vacation checks
• Assisting in crowd and traffic control
• Abandoned vehicle processing
• Vehicle lockouts
