In October 2024, Grand Blanc Township received a $207,000 grant from the State of Michigan to start our first Co-Responder Team. This team consists of a CIT trained officer, Officer Methner, and Genesee Health System employee/social worker, Penny Melton. The team responds to calls for service of those going through crisis with a goal to de-escalate situations, provide resources, and reduce recidivism. This team is also assigned to all follow-up complaints when an officer responds to an incident when the team is not working. Our Co-Response team is available to anyone in Grand Blanc Township going through a crisis or is in need of resources. The team works Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm.
