There are currently two officers assigned as School Resource Officers, working in the Grand Blanc Schools.
Officer Thomas Whitt is assigned to the East Middle School and Officer Dan Wolschleger is assigned to the West Middle School. Each Officer is responsible for the four elementary schools that feed into their middle school. The Officers work with approximately 2,000 middle school students, 6th through 8th grades, and there are approximately 3,800 elementary students. Officer Whitt has been assigned to the schools since 2021 and Officer Wolschleger since 2008.
As part of their pro-active approach, the officers assist with building security and lockdown procedures, teach programs on bullying and internet safety, handle any criminal complaints or issues that arise with students at home or in their neighborhoods. They also work closely with school administrators where needed and are positive role models for students
