Citizens' Police Academy

The Grand Blanc Township Police Department Citizens' Police Academy is designed to provide residents with information about the officers, assignments, equipment, policies, and operation of the Police Department. Our goal is to provide community members with a first-hand up-close look at their police department and possess a greater understanding of not only "what" our officers do but "why" we do it.

The 11-week program consists of lectures, demonstrations, videos, scenarios, and "hands-on" activities. Topics that are covered include; meet the Chief of Police, department tour, K9 team, criminal investigations, patrol operations, 911/dispatch tours, use of force, traffic stops, crash investigations, evidence collection, and community engagement just to list a few.
